Bo Knows Golf...

HJS Golf pic.jpg

Harry "Bo" Stanfield was an avid golfer. He fell in love with the sport in the 1960s and continued to play until the last years of his life. During his tenure in the sport he amassed a multitude of awards, as an amateur golfer.  He had several hole-in-ones through the years. His favorites were at the PGA's Kalakaua Golf Course in 1986 and at the Spalding Sports Tournament in 1986. In all, Bo had more than 20 golf trophies displayed in his home.

Bo would often be seen with his friends every year as a guest at the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA. Bo was known to brag about how some major celebrities were not allowed to attend the Masters, but he was. LOL.

His love for the sport was so deep that he co-founded the 2UP Golf Club of Miami, FL, where they would provide scholarships for youth in South Florida and weekly golf lessons for kids 3 years old and up. He was also very involved with the Sunshine State Amateur Golf Association to help spread the love of golf to the minority population in Florida. While working for Miami-Dade Public School, Bo even create a youth golf program at Carol City High School and served as the school's coach until he retired from teaching.  His female golf team won the district tournament and competed at the State level in 1999.
